Tomislav Herceg is an associate professor at the Department of Economic Theory, where he teaches Fundamentals of Economics, Microeconomics and related subjects at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels in Croatian and English at the Universities of Zagreb and Dubrovnik, and the University of Belgrade. He is a co-author of several textbooks and manuals in the field of teaching activities, and was awarded the "Mijo Mirković Award" for his work in publishing teaching materials. In his scientific work, he focuses on total factor productivity, or technological progress, at the micro, meso and macro levels, in various groups and sections of the National Classification of Activities (agriculture, manufacturing, retail, trade, information and communication technology sector). The proposer has a specific scientific interest in studying the effects of digitization in production, especially how the concept of Industry 4.0 affects technological progress. In addition to the empirical, he is also active in the theoretical-model approach to microeconomics, with special emphasis on the long-term tendencies of business decisions. The specificity of this analysis is the applicability of the theoretical contribution to the solution of practical problems, applying the innovative concept of evolutionary game theory, which is interdisciplinary in nature because it connects economics, sociology and biology. For his work in this area, the author also received recognition "Ljubomir Martić".
